It's turning into octopuses (octopii? octopodes?)

We could make this a theme thread.

So far we have had:

Hats
Fish
Vampires
and now Octopi/Squid

Someone suggested ghosts! but those kind of look like octopuses so maybe we should wait a day or two...

what if we have an upside down day?! everything is upside down!

i have mixed feelings about themes..
on one hand, it adds fun, more variety, and there's a "l33t" factor to it...

on the other hand, it makes things a lot harder for everyone, because you have to constantly remind yourself to ignore the themed draws and also "hurts" the drawing it self.. like when i was drawing a snake and add tentacles to the snake.. it was very hard for someone to guess snake.. even with the snake tongue, head, and rattle tail

In response to the negatives of themes, I'd say that they are optional, so if you can't work the theme in then you shouldn't, and also they do hurt certain draws but that's part of the fun.

I think themes sometimes inspire creative draws that you would never see otherwise. I'm still thinking about my octopus rock paper scissors sketch. :D

I agree with discoveria. themes push your creativity. I think the upside is bigger than the downside. You can always honor the theme off in a corner somewhere...sort of half ignore it...

It would be cool if there was a way to enter a "theme" into the name or description of a room. (I notice the themes are more popular on the 10K+ rooms. It would be nice to have them say, e.g., "broqli - Theme: Tentacles")
