ctrlv insults need to stop

I’ve reached my breaking point with player “ctrlv.” There is only so much a person should have to endure in respect to harassment while trying to play and enjoy a simple game. Each time we are in the same room playing Xsketch, ctrlv starts insulting me based on my appearance in my photo. He has done this for the past few weeks and I have said nothing, but enough is enough. He has made me not want to play the game and makes me feel ill when he enters the same room in which I am playing. These continued insults, awful harassment, and constant belittling need to stop and stop now.
Just today, Monday, May 26th I was treated to the following debasement in less than 2 minutes of him coming into the room: I had to sketch “buttocks” and ctrlv guessed it correctly. The chat then went as follows: ctrlv guesses of course, its what your face looks like :) quazzie234 guesses chef Marice guesses stove linusbros guesses dice Marice guesses oven Kirkpad guesses ouch ***** This is just one minor example of the insults he continues to throw at me without any provocation. This pales in comparison to the typical insults he throws at me but I didn’t feel like staying around long enough to experience them yet again. I repeat, I have never started anything with this individual and, if possible, I would like this to stop. As stated, I have reached my breaking point with this and am fed up with him ruining my enjoyment of this game. Moderators, if possible, please do something about this. Thank you! |

at 9:27 PM, Monday May 26, 2008 EDT Um, you kind of conveniently left out one little note in your copy and paste there. After you typed buttocks and i guessed it, you went "Well, you would know". What did you think I replied "of course" to. Anyways, this doesn't matter as I find it hilarious you chose to post about this.
As anyone who has been in the same table as you knows, your avatar is extremely offensive to anyone. It's really over the top. Anyone with common sense knows not to put such a picture as an avatar, or they will get comments. Such is the internet. Deal with it, grow up, I don't care how. I can make whatever comments I want to regarding someone's avatar, just as anyone can make comments about mine. Just because yours happens to be your face doesn't make you special. Let me ask you something, why did you take it off now? Why don't you put it back so that anyone that views this thread immediately sees what you have been subjecting people to. edit: you may not have removed your icon, i probably have had it disabled. |

at 10:08 PM, Monday May 26, 2008 EDT Well, I for one think the distracting part is all the insults thrown back and forth. I love seeing people's avatars and that's how I remember who I have played with, and who is good.
It's really a pain in the neck when someone starts typing in nasty comments. It angers me, and I haven't come here to be angry. I've come here to have fun. |

at 11:48 PM, Monday May 26, 2008 EDT ctrlv, xsketch is a game. The primary reason people play this game is to HAVE FUN. By insulting other players you create a hostile environment, not just for the person you're insulting but for all other players in the room (as I have witnessed).
This is the last thing I will say in this matter but personally I hope you do get banned. No player should ever be insulted whilst trying to enjoy a game, least of all be insulted about their appearance. Any mature person would have simply disabled the avatar's picture and left it at that. Melissa, I don't believe there is anything "offensive" about your avatar at all. Keep displaying it proudly. |

at 12:52 AM, Tuesday May 27, 2008 EDT sigh, this is really ridiculous. i wont apologize because none of you have a sense of humor. the one creating a hostile environment is this whale, as i was having a nice time playing and continued to play, when she started whining about me calling her something last weekend... for the record, if the mods want to ban me for this, it's really ok with me. but i just find it hilarious that you're defending someone who's starting drama on xsketch. i really want nothing to do with this repulsive looking person

at 12:59 AM, Tuesday May 27, 2008 EDT Also, if I hadn't made it clear before, I won't say anything to her again, as it's obviously more trouble than it's worth. Still, I will say that if you thought you can have something like that as your avatar on the internet without being prepared for some... constructive criticism, well welcome to the internet. I was in another room and saw a bunch of other people also mocking her avatar. But why does she single me out? Anyways, I'm finished on this matter.

at 2:33 AM, Tuesday May 27, 2008 EDT I must say that freedom of speech is often confused with freedom to say whatever they want with no consequences... but its not.. in any given so called free country you can go so far with your "free speech" without being judged for defamation, etc... you are free to say whatever you want.. but authorities will exercise their freedoms on you.
but regarding this case.. i've played with Melissa before, i think i recall her avatar and i don't find it offensive and distracting as you say, but if you feel that way, you can just click it and it goes away right? so calling her a whale, etc, its not nice, you may be on the internet, but your not on a flaming forum, xksetch is supposed to be a nice experience for everyone, and unless you think bullying in school is acceptable, and its the fat kid's fault he's getting is ass kicked then you'll understand this. And since you're finished with this matter and agreed to end matters here, and not to exercise what you call "free speech" in this way again, i think everyone will be pleased. |

at 9:25 PM, Tuesday May 27, 2008 EDT And this is the last I will say on the matter:
Ctrlv, I certainly did not create this "hostile environment" as you would try to have others believe, and you know that quite well. You started the childish name calling without any provocation whatsoever and you continued it for weeks - each and EVERY time I was in the same room as you. The last insults were NOT last weekend, they were 2-3 days ago when you started with the typical crap and then added, "Seriously, Melissa, do you practice witchcraft?" which I simply ignored. (And to all those who do practice witchcraft, I personally have no problem with you. Then again, I try to remain as nonjudgmental as possible - even in the case of this individual who continues to degrade me and refer to me as a "beast" and "it.") So, it was you, my dear, who created the "hostile environment" and who continued to spread the hostility. I personally don't care if you're banned or not. If your crap is truly going to stop, wonderful. Wonderful for me and for all others, I would hope. You will not chase me out of a room and from this point forward, should you choose to berate me, I will not comment back. I shall finish by stating that you typed, at one point, "I feel sorry for you." Well, my dear, I believe that is a perfect example of a little psychological term called, "transference." The only person anyone should feel sorry for in all this is you. I can only imagine that a very sad, depressed, angry and all around miserable person would become so volatile towards someone in a simple little internet game over her photograph. As stated, if my photo offended you so much you could have just disabled it from the start and never said anything. Now you act like I'm the one creating the drama - which, I assume, is an all-too-late attempt to cover your ass and make yourself look like the better person. Well, darling, it is way too late for that. You've done your damage and everyone has seen how disgusting you can be. :) If that was your goal, congratulations. Perhaps I am wrong and you are the happiest, most loving person who has ever graced this earth. Or, perhaps, this is simply a matter of the old concept of "you know what they say about people who protest too much." :) With this, let it all be over. Let us never speak again and simply play the game. To you, ctrlv, peace! |
