I ofc share your opinion there but it's kinda hard to decide when it's allowed then hm? what if i just draw some crap and then 2 seconds afterwards, the letters, for instance.

imo it should be allowed as soon as the hint button is coming up, cause that is also the time when the game itself allows it.

Agreed. Since hints can't be given at the beginning of the draw and are supposed to be reserved for a "last resort", letter blanks should not be given before attempting the draw either.

Buaka agrees with this sentiment, I think any clues given before the appearance of the hint button should be warnable. Unfortunately there is no visual indicator it has appeared for anyone but the sketcher.

you could pick an easy point on the timer bar where you make it warn-able

let's say no dashes during the first half of the timer? ofc with some flexibility for things that clearly look difficult to draw.
