Can we have a slow table for people retarded like me who likes drawing frogs, guinea pigs, brontosaurusinspacesuits and other (awesome) creatures on very detailed situations ?

As the "normal" speed is 90 sec, i propose 120 sec (so 2 min! yeah i'm so good at maths!! :3)

I suggested a few things to Ryan earlier, I hope he would do some

I'll post part of my mail, maybe people can add ideas or themes:

* TURBO TABLES: tables with easier words and shorter timers (maybe only 2 point ante)
* PRO WORD TABLES: tables with longer and harder things to guess, they need longer timers and maybe no points
* MULTI LANGUAGE TABLES: also easier words, well universal things that people can guess in multiple languages. A correct answer could be given in any language in the database. You lose a lot of potential from people who don't know English enough to gain points.
* DELAYED DRAWING TABLES: the drawer can draw but guessers can't see what he draws for the first 10-20 seconds, after that things go as normal
* THEME TABLES: word lists with a certain theme: food and beverages, animals, sports and hobbies, movies and songs, geography, science, ETC
* VARIABLE TIME TABLES: depending on the dificulty of the word, more or less time
* LET SOMEONE SUGGEST A WORD: harder to code maybe and this will be a 0 point table, only for recreational use by your close group of regulars and friends
Idea: random player at the table can suggest the word to the person who is supposed to draw. The person who made up the word can't guess ofc. There might be a need for a control mechanism in case the person who suggested gave an impossible word or something that was spelled wrong. On the other hand, this better be a no point environment. And it will be autoregulated by the players so no need for a control mechanism maybe

I wouldn't see the point in all those tables until we get more people playing. I really like that someone picks a word though.. I imagine bold things could come of it though!

A 2 minute table would be nice, but before there are major changes as in the other suggestions, there are other things that are more pressing in my opinion.

1) We still don't have any mods around for the majority of the time, and that's not for lack of suitable people.

2) The problem with the guess box getting erased when people sit in.

3) The new "Find a Seat" button doesn't change to "Sit In" until a new round which is a pain in the arse.

4) The site is too vertical. The bottom links and top buttons (sit in etc.) should perhaps be on the left. All monitors are wider than they are tall and a lot of people use 16:9 nowadays, plus browsers tend to make this worse by having bars along the top, and of course most OSs have a bar along the bottom.

5) The rules aren't visible enough. Very few new players take the time to read them, even those with good intentions. Moving the rules link to the left as in point 4 might help.

6) People can be away indefinitely, losing points and clogging up seats.

7) No normal speed tables are automatically on the list of tables to change to.

That's all I can think of for now.

Hey, I agree with Jim that a range of tables wouldn't really be worthwhile with so few players... we don't want to be splitting the people we do have up into little chunks. Also, aside from the idea of a table at which you can guess in any language, all of jurgen's other ideas are things that you can do on iSketch whereas I feel that XSketch's appeal lies elsewhere.

A slow table could be fun for those who like to do elaborate or intricate drawings but I'd imagine that pretty quickly it'd just be used as a replacement for the "regular" time rather than as a "special" mode.

I said I would like a slow table, as it excists a normal and fast table now... It was just in reaction to that "fast" table. But your reactions made me change my mind. Making different tables it's not the priority,I totally agree with Boz!
I've never been supportive of different kind of tables at all, and that, even if everything of Boz's list is fixed... There's another site (an i-thing but not created by Steve Jobs)for that. Let's keep that site warm and friendly... :{)
