Suggested Update to Game Rules (Ryan, please read; Players please add your thoughts)

With the removal of the hint button, we are left to the dashes/first letter as a hint option during draws. But this can be confusing for new users... what is okay to do and what is not okay to do. The current rules are so vague and players are left to explain the rules and our different interpretations of what the rules are/should be. So this post is suggesting an update to the Rules page... still short, sweet and simple but also clarifying certain things.
Game Rules You're not allowed to use letters, numbers or symbols. (Is the first letter of the first word acceptable, AFTER drawing first? And what about dashes? Should it be dashes OR first letter or can we do both.) You're not allowed to use nudity, violence, or hate symbols. (Well, this is obvious but what about the tastefully violent/erotic-ish drawings. key word is tasteful, when relevant. I don't think this rule should be so elaborate but maybe rephrased to say "no offensive draws, keep it tasteful, children play, etc.") Anyways, post your thoughts here and let's try to come up with community made rules that will make it easier for new players to understand and have fun playing, with less disciplining needed. |

at 8:17 AM, Tuesday September 27, 2011 EDT I like the rooms with a certain number of points, as do many of the other regulars, it helps us when it comes to trolls or people that like to write words...also when we draw things that they will not understand and will make them confused (i.e. cats, birds, mushrooms, etc.). But when there is a person who wants to play and doesn't have enough points, most of us will accommodate and move to the other room for them :)

at 1:57 PM, Monday October 3, 2011 EDT I don't know if this has been mentioned ever, but it is a little annoying when players who aren't playing at the table, type the answers in the chat box.
I understand that these players want to help when no one at the table can guess the answer but SURELY this is a form of cheating? Am I alone with this one? |

at 3:38 PM, Monday October 3, 2011 EDT I do that quite a bit and sorry if it annoys anybody, will try quit doing it. However I wouldn't go as far as call it cheating, but sometimes it's quicker than sitting in, guessing and maybe ruining another players guess while doing so, which I think is more annoying.

at 9:23 AM, Tuesday October 4, 2011 EDT I would call it cheating though because you are providing the answer. Yes, everyone guessing would have the same advantage if they thought to look at the chat box BUT you are also giving the drawer points which otherwise they would not have got. (if you understand that lol)
It is even more annoying when they do it several times in a row when a table isn't even full. I can take it once or twice but then you have had plenty of chances to sit in. :) To be fair Jansen, I haven't seen you do it at all yet so I wasn't implying it was you. :) |
