Become an accurate sketcher...

1. Looking at how other people communicate different words. Use their ideas if they were successful. (Especially with months, days, and other tricky words.)

2. Taking your time to draw accurately instead of quickly

3. Being prepared to completely start over, or to change tack halfway through a sketch

4. Google/Wikipedia any word or phrase that you don't know.

5. Use the ear symbol, arrows to correct guesses, and other tricks to help the guessers.

As an accurate sketcher you will rarely lose points due to poor sketches and having to pass on words. Then you only need to be able to guess a bit more than your fair share of other people's sketches in order to accumulate points.

Having the talent to draw helps, but it isn't necessary. think of pop culture symbols or commonly referenced items reffering to the word.

i.e. aztec, you would think would be impossible, but a pyramid w/ not top & an arrow pointing to peru worked for me.

Also, like Discoveria said, looking up what they are help out as well.
