My name is Marice and I'm a sketchaholic. It's been at least 1 hour since my last sketch and I'm already suffering withDRAWel. Tips for not sketching too much appreciated. |

at 9:24 PM, Saturday June 21, 2008 EDT I am TheCinders and I am a sketchaholic. I can`t seem to go very long without my daily dose of sketchohol. Since I found this place, I have started to dream in partial words and pictures, and I fear for the safety of my right brain when I am offline. Sometimes I only mean to stop in for a few quick draws, but end up getting sucked into the inevitable XSketch time warp. I only hope there is a cure...

And I am a Sketchaholic. The abuse began a month back, when I skirted on and off of xsketch. The glorious highs and melancholic lows reeled me in. At first, I could get away with 1 maybe 2 hours a day. It quickly turned to 14 and 15. And all this time, I've never seen a decent sketch of an aardvark... |

at 12:24 AM, Tuesday July 29, 2008 EDT My name is OverZealous (OZ), and I, too, am a Sketch-a-holic.
I recently "quit" sketching for almost a whole month. I promised myself to start up again the next month. I figured a month away would break the NEED. I almost made it. One night, just before bedtime, I logged on to check up on XSketch friends. After watching the 0-level table play for a few minutes, I figured I could play just a little bit. Just one round. Or two. Before I knew it, I had played for several hours. Within a few nights I was back up to the 10K tables, playing hard. Late at night I'd find myself slumped over the keyboard, passed out from playing too much XSketch. My eyes are always bloodshot, and I try to hide the calluses on my fingers from my wife. I'm not able to sleep again without playing "just a few more rounds". I keep saying "Ok, ok, this is the last one!", but there's always one more drawing, one more round, one more joke... But you all know how it is... Well, I need to get some rest... Maybe one more round first, then I'll get some rest... |

at 11:18 PM, Wednesday July 30, 2008 EDT Hi- My name is KellyKellyMoore and I'm a sketchaholic, after only 3 weeks and 10,000 pts. I knew this this to be true when I was talking to my elderly father, and he said something funny and I said "lol". I feel like maybe I can overcome this addiction by just innundating myself with the game, and maybe I will tire of it. Therefore my solution is to PLAY MORE. Have a great day.

I have tried many ways to battle my addiction. Yes Kelly I too tried the 'overload' technique. My children started feeding themselves. So then I tried complete abstinence. I felt bereft and as the end of the month approached I couldnt resist a quick peak just to see everyone. There were honest to goodness tears in my eyes !! I decided I didnt want to live without you all. So then I tried the 'balanced' approach. Surely it is possible to love xsketch AND have a life? My children have learnt to wait till the end of a round before asking a question. My husband enquires politely after my position on the leaderboard. My friends wait sympathetically for me to finish ANOTHER xsketch anecdote. It wasnt perfect, but at least they were all still there for me.. And then Shmegs went and set up a google group forum for us all!!!!!!!!!!! |
