Arrogant players/Players who don't support new people

There's an issue here that Yuxxy already brought up, but here's the thing...

When a new player joins a game and sees an older member drawing upside down mushrooms and penguins, how are they supposed to know what the hell you're doing? It's no wonder this site is the frequent victim of trolling and raging from noobs. This site is perfect for anybody to come in and break rules or become angry very quickly. Like Yuxxy said, noobs are warned out immediately if they cheat when not knowing the rules and receive snide remarks like "UM this is x SKETCH, no words, pleasekbai"

What the hell do you think a new player is gonna do in response to that? I understand this is a family site, but your behavior reflects on this website. An entire group of veterans up and left a full table (6 of 9 of them left) just to go to their own table and draw upside down and be veteran friends. Meanwhile, a second table full of noobs is created and every person in that table draws letters and words and symbols and whatever.

There was also another laughable discussion in which two veterans berated theothrwhytmeat for using dashes since she holds 8th place. They said "Oh what a shame. Disgraceful to see someone in top 10 using dashes." She broke no rules. She was just a target of narcissism from players who expect clever pictures. It's her first month and you know, she's competing and doing very well and that's how she's treated. Some people on this site don't care to draw cutesy animals in every picture. Some people want to get the trophy and earn points without breaking rules. It was just a disgusting image of what some xsketch members are about, worth pointing out.

All this cutesy, "polite" polite behavior you think you're doing is enraging a lot of people, particularly the new people or people you misjudge. I didn't call anybody out in particular here, but you all know who you are. My advice to you would be to put yourself in kelly's position when she's dealing with a new player or an issue that requires a bit more intuition than some of you have shown.

This is a pictionary site. It doesn't need to be so difficult to just sit back and have fun.

That there is not only one xsketch table, there is another always available for anyone to play at and once that one gets players, another one opens up...so it's not like there is only one table that you must play at.

Ok...hit me

------------------------------------------
W"hen a new player joins a game and sees an older member drawing upside down mushrooms and penguins, how are they supposed to know what the hell you're doing? "

-------------------------------------------
Oh what an interesting point! It's true they will probably be confused, but surely, can't it be that a simple chat message will explain that people are just having a bit of fun...Indeed, there's no WAY you can make a malicious argument out of this.

"It's no wonder this site is the frequent victim of trolling and raging from noobs. This site is perfect for anybody to come in and break rules or become angry very quickly."
---------------------------------------------
You're absolutely right, it's so easy for them to do it that it's highly unlikely those who do troll did it because we, the regular players, somehow angered them.

--------------------------------------------- "Like Yuxxy said, noobs are warned out immediately if they cheat when not knowing the rules and receive snide remarks like "UM this is x SKETCH, no words, pleasekbai"
-----------------------------------------------I rarely see remarks like this. Usually It's something along the lines of
"Hey 'BLAHBLAH' just so you know you can only write first letter of first word only in the sketch, but try not to be so liberal with your usage, because after all it is not in the spirit of the game of pictionary to use letters. I hope that clears things up a bit.
Sincerely
BLAHBLAH"

(Ok maybe highly over-exaggerated but I hope you catch my meaning).

--------------------------------------------
"What the hell do you think a new player is gonna do in response to that?"
--------------------------------------------
"Oh shit! Sorry! Thanks"

Or for TROLLS

"Cock!Cock!Willy!Nob!"

No?

--------------------------------------------
" I understand this is a family site, but your behavior reflects on this website. An entire group of veterans up and left a full table (6 of 9 of them left) just to go to their own table and draw upside down and be veteran friends."
----------------------------------------------
What's wrong with adding a little extra twist to the game? There's no crime in adding an extra challenge to the game, and really it makes sense to do it in a seperate place from those who don't want to join in. Right?

--------------------------------------------
"Meanwhile, a second table full of noobs is created and every person in that table draws letters and words and symbols and whatever."
--------------------------------------------
Since when was it the sole responsibility of the regular players to ensure this doesn't happen? If you ask me you have HIGHLIGHTED A KEY PROBLEM with the game in that the RULES are NOT CLEAR to NEW PLAYERS. The so-called "veterans" can't be around ALL the time to explain things to new players, and who really wants to anyway?

---------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------
I wasn't here for this, so I won't comment on the incident. As far as the point you made about not everyone wanting to draw "cutesy animals". So fucking what. Let people draw whatever which way they see fit. Drawing is an art form, art is a form of expression, let people express themselves. there's nothing wrong with it. Seriously what the hell kind of point are you trying to make here, go get some legs because you have none to stand on.

---------------------------------------------
"All this cutesy, "polite" polite behavior you think you're doing is enraging a lot of people, particularly the new people or people you misjudge."
---------------------------------------------
I've never seen any insincere politeness here. So maybe the "you" people you refer to aren't the ones doing the midjudging. Believe it or not, some people are just nice.

"I didn't call anybody out in particular here, but you all know who you are. My advice to you would be to put yourself in kelly's position when she's dealing with a new player or an issue that requires a bit more intuition than some of you have shown."
----------------------------------------------
Unnecessary slander much? Maybe you should spill the beans on who you are referring to. I for one would LOVE to know what bullshit has been concocted in your head.

Also for the record. KKM does a magnificent job which I can relate to and is not something I would care to do again, that goes for the other mods too. So good job!

See when you finished writing your post. You should have re-read this last sentence.

It was I who warned! Hangman-Man.
Most sketchers sit and cower in fear when dashes come before a drawing, so much so they loose their ability to guess. Fear not, for it is my mission to kill my arch enemy, hangman.

I go against the official rules, warning those repeat players who use two hints before a sketch appears. Luckily, my true identity is such a well kept secret. I have a mask to hide my face, and even a sexy cape.

I don't expect clever pictures. I expect a picture. I'm a disgusting image of what some members are about (actual drawings).

If ever you fear asking people to draw a drawing when it's their turn to draw... remember, hangman-man is near.

he's kinda right...there's nothing wrong with what some of the "pros" (i use that term lightly) do as far as drawing upside down or using other people's avatars in their draws, but they should explain things to the newer players. i don't even get half the jokes/draws happening when its the top players, and this is only because of the lack of communication.
